Adventuring Status: Currently leading a faithful party of adventurers on an expedition to purge Watcher's Keep of evil. The story is well known, so I will refrain from going into great detail. From the fateful night when Gorion was struck down and Balidor was forced to flee from Candlekeep and seek refuge at the Friendly Arm; to the gathering of his first adventuring party in Beregost; to the cleansing of the Naskell Iron Mines; to the defeat of the Iron Throne and the flooding of the Cloakwood Mines; to the wondrous and mysterious great city of Baldur's Gate; to the Temple of Bhaal and the defeat of Sarevok; to Durlag's Tower; to the recovery of Balduran's ship and the lost Balduran relics; to the Lands of Amn and the great southern city of Athkatla; to the banishment of the vampire cult from the city's tombs; to the Shadow Thief Guild, to Brynnlaw, the Asylum, Spellhold, and the pursuit of Bodhi and Irenicus through the Underdark to Ust Natha, to Suldanessellar, to the Tree of Life, and the Nine Hells; to the realization of his true Bhaalspawn heritage and the defeat of Irenicus, and... Gloria Angel

Adventuring Status: Protector of Balidor. Once upon a time a tall, gawky stable girl for the Candlekeep garrison, Gloria had her eye on Balidor long before the fateful night when Gorion was felled by Sarevok. For some reason Gloria had always known that it would be her destiny to protect Balidor whatever the cost may be, and she had already befriended Balidor long before he was forced to flee Candlekeep. The two seemed to have much in common with their low standing and distaste for the haughty atmosphere of Candlekeep's "elite" old guard. An orphan who took up residence in the stable loft, Gloria was typically the butt of guard jokes and generally mistreated by the soldiers. In spite of this neglect, Gorion had foreseen her importance and indirectly provided what little assistance and protection he could without drawing attention to the girl and endangering her welfare. Privately trained in arms and defensive strategy by a highly decorated and well trusted Knight of the Rose who was sworn to secrecy, Gloria had been warned about the impending doom that would befall Balidor, and unlike her peer, she was completely prepared for the journey that lie ahead. Although Gloria has grown to become one of the most strikingly beautiful maidens in the realm--often being said to posses the beauty of an Elven princess--the two have never been romantic and have maintained a strictly professional relationship. Although Gloria is not Bhaalspawn, and she is not related to Balidor by bloodline in any way, the two are often thought to be brother and sister. Gloria has sworn her life to the protection of Balidor, and proclaims this as her sole purpose for existing. She has even been known to state that she would "return from the grave to fight by Balidor's side if need be." Only a fool would question her motives or loyalty as she is perhaps one of the most skilled fighters in the realm. -- Volo

Elrond

Adventuring Status: Volunteer aid to Balidor's cause. Elrond is extremely intelligent and even wiser, but sometimes this exceptional level of brain power seems to cloud his common sense. The Half-Elf claims to be a direct descendent of the mythical hero Elrond, Master of Rivendell, but few of Elrond's acquaintances actually believe him, and they attribute the "delusions of grandeur" to his eccentric nature. As any historian worth his salt can tell you, the mythology of Middle Earth is set in an entirely different world, and the actual existence of this place has never been proven. Nevertheless, Elrond is over 1,000 years old, is an extremely powerful magic user, and his origin is shrouded in mystery. When asked about how he came to be in Faerun, Elrond only recites tales of Middle Earth and drifts into an introspective state. One thing is known for sure, Elrond and Balidor met while battling a mutual foe in the Naskell Iron Mines, and the talented magic user has been a faithful member of Balidor's party ever since. -- Volo

Adventuring Status: Currently on retainer to Balidor. Crystal is a fiery spirit who couldn't relate at all to the sedate nature of her kinsfolk. From an early age the rambunctious Halfling wracked havoc everywhere she went and only encountered trouble. It wasn't long before she was disowned by her conservative parents and kicked out of her village--the remote dale of Gullykin. Out on the road she found her true calling, and without the constraints of Halfling society to hold her back she settled down somewhat and took on a more pleasant disposition. In fact, it is this change of character that caused her to join up with Balidor when she saw the ad he had posted in Beregost requesting the services of a talented footpad. As it turns out, Balidor and company where on their way to Gullykin of all places, and Crystal took the opportunity to apologize to her parents, the local authorities and to make a rather generous donation to the local temple which she had robbed blind only few years prior. -- Volo

Adventuring Status: Unknown. Although it has not been confirmed for certain because Samson is quite adept at sticking to the shadows, it has been indicated to yours truly by a trusted informant that Samson has taken up residence in Beregost with Cristina the Mage. If this is the case, it is understandable why he would want to keep a low profile--for if word got out that an Elven female and a Dwarven male had taken up residence together, the scandalous news would travel like wildfire through the realm. The only thing known for sure is that while Balidor's party was investigating strange doings in Trademeet, Samson departed rather abruptly without even a hint of an explanation. If any of the remaining members of Balidor's party know anything, they're keeping a tight lid on it. -- Volo
